"You're not Old Enough" To My Cousin MAdeline////
Growing Up
It Doesn't Happen
Overnight
These are Gradual Changes
learn the word PATIENCE
in the word Patient
there are immersions
hospitalizations
doctors appointments
and in between,
the growing self-awareness
and life
and joy
and getting older
experiences
that make us wiser
love of life
that give us the passion to fight
the reasons we smile every day
are the reasons we fight
Take each day as a challenge
be a patient
want to heal
the joy of your life has little to do
with the meds or the doctor
you still get to create
create
a life
only yours, what do you want
to be
go to college
travel
fulfill your dreams
paint
write poetry
spend time with family
and friends
find your soulmate
LIFE
doesn't usually have
these JArring, Hospitalization-moments.
Life is a steady healing
From the searing Of Your First Time.
Take Your Medicine Like Clockwork
and cooperate with your doctor.
that is my best advice.
The hero part comes out
in the embroidery of time, as time
stitches another row in the blanket of soft life,
You My Child WILL Heal
You Need To Heal.
No More Jarring Hospitalizations.
They don't ever want to see you again.
So Take your meds every day
and make friends with your doctor
And as time goes by, you will begin to grow older
and wisdom will grow.
AMEN.
