Winter Date In The Snow
I take his hand and we stomp throught the snow
that glitters like diamonds on the crust of white snow
the air is crisp and clear and bright the stars are out
and The Constellation Orion asks me if i need anything
as i look up at it, and a twinkling star says
"Oh Star!  The Fairest One In Sight..." But i dont hear the rest
because my husband and i are going out on a hot date in the snow
my eyes are black and sphinxlike, all eqyptian and mysterious beauty
ii am grinning, chris is frowning and telling me to Shutup
and we get in our little blue firebird and drove out of the snowfilled
apartments into the snowfilled street.  streetlamps flicker overhead
as we drive one mile down to A Nearby little Italian Restaraunt we love
it's freezing!  We Go in to eat and there is firelight and opera music
and sinatra and pavarotti playing, and we order eggplant parmesan
and mozzarelly cheese sticks, stromboli and onion rings with greek salads
and as we wait for our food we gaze into one another's beautiful blue eyes
he smiles at me and i can tell he admires my beauty and we share the food
its hot and cheesy and the booths are warm the music is opera and the light is sleepy
i nearly fall asleep as my husband Theodore pays the check and i murmur how delicious
it was, and holding hands we stomp throught the glittering snow in the dark
and somehow make it home and go into our warm lamplit heated home sweet home.
throwing off coats and fur and boots and slipping into his pantiess and my nightgown
and gathering on the bed we crawl under our warm warm covers and our body heat
we wrap our arms and legs around one another to stay warm, its warm and
we watch movies and football.  i take my sleeping pills on my nightstand and
slowly fall asleep, warm and happy and so full.....
Lord, can we relive this night when we get into the Kingdom of Heaven?
