"Life At Age 30"
Brilliant Minds Don't Crumble In A Day they Go On and On
College Ends But We Dont We Keep Walking
All The Rules are Cast Away As Time Goes On
And Time Marches On and On life getting harder
with every day we get older and sadder and further from home
home, our memories, our childhood days, the things we miss
And Our Bodies Sag and Grow And Weigh Us Down
And Our Faces Age and Wrinkles And Lose Their Elasticity
And We LEarn To Look Perpetually Tired, Exhausted
Jaded and frustrated and lost and unwilling to admit to anyone
that none of us has that Ace Up Our Sleeves and even if we did
that none of us not one, really knows where life is going
all we know is we are coming towards the end of living
you can think about the afterlife all one's life but it
doesn't make it any closer and it is so saddening death
you are always forced to testify that you are sane, not insane
even though none of us knows what sanity is
And You're Jaded and completely lost with no ideas to go
and dreams have become precious things and rare and far between
and we dedicate ourselves to some higher causes
and we tell ourselves were making a difference in the world
when we're picking up dust and cigarrette butts from filthy floors
we dream of making a positive impact in other's lives and life
we dream of making the world a little more decent with every day
we never lose sight of our memories and everybody has a Home
that nobody can ever take away from them and it is theirs alone
and if our homes crumble we shatter and shake like wounded aircraft
or struck buildings in the sky, trembling at the foundations, no knowing
but praying to God, that this new Blow isn't crumbling Our Foundations
The Mind Grows Soft after College and one loses the sharp abilities and memories
of facts and techniques and all you feel is a growing cynicism
None of us knows where we are going so dont follow us
anyone who claims they have a solution is even more wrong than we are
at least we are willing to admit we don't know what we can't know
and the mind is not as sharp as the perils of adulthood nor its computers
that think in ways we cannot fathom and somehow there is a God
although Computers are becoming a shadow between the divine and our souls
yet we must trust our species' innovations because we're just evolving
and if you think you know what you're doing, good for you
Brilliant Minds Don't Crumble In A Day. They Go On and On////
