"Snow Thaw"
peering blinded from the darkness into bright sunlight,
I tuck Jesus into my little hand and carry him out on the porch,
watching his response as a mother watches her baby he looks
he looks and looks like a newborn baby and i let him crawl about,
his frightened little beating heart and warm body against my heart,
he watches the melting snow and dripping gutters of the roof falling
into pools a story below our porch, ice and snow melting and everywhere
everywhere sunlight plays on the trickling water that forms rivers and pools
the gutters shed water into deep pools and these winding rivers flow down the hill
little creeks sprung up from the melting snow and the winter sunshine giggles and dances
as it plays upon the little shiny wet stones and the rivers form a creek that seeps and flows
down the sidewalk in a flash of shining light trickling water flowing rivers
and the crust of the thawing snow is glittering like sparkles on a Christmas ornament
the glittering crust of the frozen and now thawing snow in the shadows
and in the light the creek in our driveway pours into a drainage pipe in the road
with a waterfall splashing that makes you wonder what world lay under the asphalt
wonderful elements playing upon my mind and heart and eyes and i'm pretty too
i look pretty in the light i wish you were here leftovers in the fridge
a hot pot of tea is waiting for me and im in my bunny slippers
and the snow is thawing away, to my dearest delight as i come into the light!
In Jesus' Name,
AMEN!////
