"Child Of Ocean, Child Of God"
Child Of OCean, Child Of God
Dost Thee Not Find Human Life Odd?
I say, rise sea breakers, and Sink, grey stones
I say cross the bridge and raise the brigde
so that i may get to my home in the sea
Child of Ocean, Child of God
When Thee Gazed On The Parthenon
Or Held The Omphalos at Delphi
Didst thee know, didst thee know,
How much God Loved Thee?  No.
Thee did not know, in sea or acropolis
But thou shalt know when I am cold
because the winter freezes my body
and my poverty shames me for i have
no fancy dress to wear to any dinner
when my hunger comes upon me like a flood
and the flies are a plague, Child of God
Canst thee not see and remember those times
when thee gazed on the famous wonders of earth
and rocked to sleep in the bosom of the sea
when thou tasted from the silver spoon of many
and the ivory was abundant and sapphires were loose
like tears?  Of Child of God---No.  It is in
My Great Suffering and thirsting for righteousness
to fall upon the earth like a cleansing rain
that i remember God's love for me
God loves me more, more than he loves the world
He made me an immortal spirit to dwell in
his kingdom, yet even in my worst nightmares
all i have to do is say the Lord's Prayer, and I
Immediately Wake Up.  Yes, God Loveth Me.
I Am A Child of Ocean, Child of God.
