"I Gave Astronomy Up"
I refuse to study the stars
because i love them, and you can't
study something that you love.
i love them.  i know their names most
of them, i wanted to learn their names,
i had a map to tell me which
star is which but i
threw it away
i'd rather gaze at the stars
and see infinity
i love them, lord
i just love them.
I pray for them
I'm grateful that
i can still feel infinity
after all these years...
Lord, My Poor Heart!
They'll never measure me either
nor dissect my body nor soul
because i love, and they can't
study something that loves.
