You Came Into Our Temple
With a fearful lamb about thy shoulders
And Savoir Thee Wert Cold and Wet
From the cold Rain and Darkness
A Fearsome Night
You are My Husband Theodore.
I Went looking for you
fists
in my torn pockets
of my badly-fitting overcoat
I was in my nightgown
It Was After Two AM
The Lampposts had orangey haloes
Like Stars They Were, and the darkness,oh,
it was freezing and pouring down an icy rain
I padded along in bare feet, a little bit afraid
because the fog was smothing the frozen wet
wretched earth and my only comfort
in that gloaming were dry pine needles
under my feet and a poor blackbird calling,
calling to me in its sleep.I comforted the
bird,that this night,too,must also end.
And Then I found you,MyTheodore,sitting
alone in the
darkness.Were you hiding, my child?
Why Did You Want To Be Alone?
And not in warm bed with me thy loving wife?
I brought you a coffee mug of sweet homeade koolaid,
and you drankit.I didn'twant to leave you there
Youwerewaiting
ForMy Nightgowns to wash in the laundry machine!
You had-coime-into this
dark and cold
with only towash my dirty gowns!
I thank the Lord for thee,Theodore.
I ThankYou. I hope to never
never hurt thy feeling again!
In JEsus'Name,
Amen!
