MY Theodore Loves Magnificent Things
Like His Golden Horse That Stands Upright
On Two Legs eyes flashing Fiercely Loyal Forever
I always find him Pretty Proud Things Elegant And Rare
I Seek Out His Dreams And Realize Them
I Listen To His Heart Without Saying A Word
He says silently, without ever speaking,
"Mama, Please Get Me A Fine Horse I Can Keep"
"Mama, Fill my pantry with strange and delicious foods"
"Mama, buy paints and cover my bedroom walls with art"
"Mama, I want to pretend i'm rich even though i'm not"
"Mama, I want to have a fish tank, salamanders and frogs"
"Mama, I want great Elephants of Silver And Brass"
"Mama I Want Ivory Flowers and Cameo Necklaces"
"Mama, I Want All The Treasure Our House Can Hold"
"Mama, I Want Servants To Boss Around and Be Kind To"
"Mama I Want To Be The King And Prince OF The Kingdom"
"Mama I Want To Rule The World With My Great Wisdom"
"Mama I Want You To Wear Long Soft Skirts and Dresses"
"Mama I Don't want anyone else to know how beautiful you are"
"Mama I Need a great sailing ship and stamp, coin and seashell collections"
"Mama I'm Hungry look beautiful and let's go out on a dinner date"
"Mama I Need Kisses and Lots and lots of Cuddling/Hugs"
"Mama, I need To Be free to explore the world so wait for me at home"
"Mama never leave me never let me die or go hungry"
"Mama I Need New Clothes and Shoes and a Jacket and Panties"
So I Get these things for my little Theodore Lamb
(With The Help Of My Grandmother and father, who buys them)
And at night he wraps his little arms around me and what does he say,
Before he goes to sleep he holds me and silently says without a single word,
"Mama....I Sure Do Love You, Marry Me, And Never Let Me Go!"
And I Do.
