"Willolyn's Gardens"
Spring Unfolds Like a Flower At Willolyn Hall
The January Snows and Ice Storms Fill The Deep Woods
Like Glass The Twigs Are Covered in layers of ice
The Wind and thaw shakes off the cold wet Glass
And It Trickles Into The Treeroots and Pine needles.
At Willolyn Hall, The Daffodils humbly and silently
start pushing up through the ground in spots of green
in february, and their Yellow Sundresses Bloom in March
The Hyacinths and Crocus are next to bloom, and while they do,
Green buds are sprouting for every living tree and plant,
And Little Plants are waking Up.  Next Comes The China Trees
Also Called Snowball Bushes by my family, these trees explode
into great fat clumps of white lacy blossoms thick and abundant
Rich creamy White Flowers, about a million clusters bloom in april
The children pick them and throw the snowball of flowers at each other
That's Easter.  They Drop their Petals over a period of Weeks, they fall
Like little weeping prayers or dreams The Weeping Cherry And Pear Trees Bloom
Then The Azaleas Take over in April, Fuschia and White, Hot Pink And Magenta,
These Bushes of Tropical Flowers Explode All At Once And Bloom Throughout The Woods.
All up and down the drive they exclaim themselves awake! And the butterflies are reborn
and fly, making kisses to one another in the blue sky as it heads into may
and the roses start blooming, and the other countless flowers.  Then the vines and trees
become a Jungle By June-July, Filled With Cicadas and Spiders of all Sorts
Shrilling, The insects Cry Their undeciphered Shreiks into the summer days and long nights.
By Summer The Treefrogs are grown from tadpoles in still waters and croaking away
The little goldfish swim all about the pond and snakes and deer migrate
through the green ferny bosom of the forest, through which The South Tyger River Runs.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen!
